Sonoma Farmer's Market - Fresh and Fun

The Tuesday night Sonoma Farmer's Market has grown in size and popularity in recent years. With the bigger crowds it's become a venue for people with all sorts of messages...from campaiging politicians to grouchy clowns. These two on stilts were joined by a crowd of clowns that made news in the Sonoma Index Tribune.
The weather has been cooler than usual so far this spring but when the temps rise and the evenings warm up, the Tuesday night Sonoma Farmer's Market is the hottest social scene around. Relatives and friends gather for picnics and playtime and it feels like one great big multi-generational family reunion in the center of our friendly town.

If you're around on Tuesday evenings in Sonoma, check out the Farmer's Market. I just might see you there.

I love the Farmers Market in our area!!! Ours starts the week after next!!
I really enjoy your Localism posts and you've done a great job with the Google map!
I enjoy the local farmer's markets. I can only imagine the good finds in Sonoma!
Hi Deborah....me, too! I used to grow and sell apples in another life...farmers are the best people I know.
Thanks, Russell. I have to give Brad Andersohn tons of credit on the map element. He held a fantasic ActiveRain University webinar yesterday that showed me how. It wasn't easy gettting everything to "sit right" in the post...took a couple hours of trial and error. (Might have been somewhat due to server issues, I'm not sure.) I think the embedded Google Map is pretty cool. I'm not quite there yet...with all the bells and whistles. I really appreciate your kind compliment...you are such a pro.
Bill: I'm into flower-power---I'm a genuine California girl---so I check those out first. The organically-grown Oak Hill Farm produce stand is my next stop. If I'm being good I walk away from the pastries nearby but I almost always stop at the Hummus Guy's table and load up on pita and one of his spreads. Uh Oh. It's late and I'm getting hungry again....so i'm just going to wrap this up and head to bed. Thanks for stopping by.
Kirsten,
Love the Farmer's Market, we have it here for 6 days a week in different locales, it is wonderful to meet the farmers and become friends. They are each wonderful characters.
Love the shot of the two on stilts! How fun!
